Revive: Do you Possess the Faith?

Last Sunday morning we introduced a brand new sermons series called “REVIVE.” My heart’s cry to God has been for revival to take place in the church and for an awakening to break out in the community. It seems that finally, Cleary is poised to experience a measure of revival…at least that is my hope and prayer.

This Sunday we begin the first mini-series within the “REVIVE” series focused on Possessing the Faith. This mini-series will last three weeks and is designed to help us ensure that we are truly “His people called by His Name” (2 Chronicles 7:14a).

This Sunday we are going to be taking a Final Exam based on the letter of First John. We are going to learn how to determine if we truly know Him (1 John 5:13).

Next Sunday, September 27th we are going to take a deep look at Genesis 3 and get a preview of the Gospel.

Finally, on October 5, we are going to look at a very difficult passage of Scripture, Hebrews 6, that will open all of our eyes to the urgency of responding to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I want to encourage you to please do 3 things for me this weekend.

1. Please plan to be present this Sunday and come seeking the face of God.
2. Please begin right now praying without ceasing for an awakening to take place beginning this Sunday.
3. Please forward this email to everyone that may be interested in attending and work hard to invite and bring with you every lost person and every unchurched person that you know for these next three Sundays.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at Cleary. Spread the Word!

REVIVE

This Sunday morning we will be starting a brand new sermons series called “REVIVE.” My heart’s cry to God has been for revival to take place in the church and for an awakening to break out in the community. It seems that finally, Cleary is poised to experience a measure of revival…at least that is my hope and prayer.

This Sunday, September 13, there will be an overview of God’s recipe for revival based on 2 Chronicles 7:14. Then we are going to spend three weeks focused on each of the ingredients we discover Sunday. The schedule for the series (which is subject to change due to the leading of the Holy Spirit) is as follows…

September 13—The Recipe for Revival, 2 Chronicles 7:14
September 20-October 4—Possessing the Faith…If my people who are called by my name (2 Chronicles 7:14a).
October 11-October 25—Praying in Faith…will humble themselves and pray (2 Chronicles 7:14b).
November 1-November 15—Pursuit in Faith…and seek my face (2 Chronicles 7:14c).
November 22-December 6—Purity through Faith…and turn from their wicked ways (2 Chronicles 7:14d).

We are going to do our best to get each ingredient right in God’s recipe for revival in hope and faith that he will indeed revive his people (Ps 85:6).

Also, beginning tomorrow night, Wednesday, Sep 9th in the worship center we are going to introduce a new agenda on Wednesday’s. For a season, we are going to focus our attention as a church on revival and spending our prayer time crying out to God for revival. This emphasis will continue until mid-December.

What can you do to help see revival?

1. You can begin now praying for revival to come to Cleary.
2. You can forward this email to everyone in your inbox that is hungry for revival.
3. You can begin now inviting others to come be a part of “Revive.”
4. You can bring the lost and unchurched with you to Cleary on September 20, September 27, and October 4 as we focus on what it really means to possess the faith, not just profess the faith.

SPREAD THE WORD! The ball is in your court!

Spread the Word: REVIVE

Please put on your calendar Sunday, September 13th and spread the word to everyone in your circle of influence that we, at Cleary, will be starting a brand new sermons series that you will not want to miss called “REVIVE.” We are longing to see true revival take place at Cleary and we are going to be doing all that we can to align ourselves in such a way that revival is possible.

We are not talking about a Sunday through Wednesday “revival.” Churches have been having those for the last 100 years and there has not been one lasting, sweeping revival in America in the last 150 years. In other words, "revivals" don't have a reputation for bringing REVIVAL. We are not talking about a Sunday through Wednesday series of meetings. We are talking about accepting, applying, and living God’s recipe for revival found in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

We are going to give an overview of God’s recipe for revival on September 13. Then we are going to spend three weeks focused on each ingredient.

1. Salvation—If my people who are called by my name (2 Chronicles 7:14a).
2. Prayer—will humble themselves and pray (2 Chronicles 7:14b).
3. Pursuit of God—and seek my face (2 Chronicles 7:14c).
4. Repentance—and turn from their wicked ways (2 Chronicles 7:14d).

We are going to do our best to get each ingredient right in God’s recipe for revival in hope and faith that he will indeed revive his people (Ps 85:6).

Also, beginning Wednesday, Sep 9th in the worship center we are going to begin studying revival and spending our prayer time crying out to God for revival. If you are not currently attending on Wednesday's you will want to be present for this new revival emphasis. How desperate we are for God! Come cry out to Him for Him with us!

Please plan to be here Sunday, September 13th ready to hear from God and respond! Please forward this blog around to everyone at Cleary and everyone that you know is hungry to experience a mighty move of God and encourage them to come join us as we begin a brand new 13 week sermon series and emphasis called “REVIVE.”
